Bags of Help is Tesco’s exciting local community grant scheme where the money raised by the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK. Projects that bring benefit to their community will get the green light – these range from improving community buildings and outdoor spaces to buying new equipment, training coaches or volunteers and hosting community events.

Administration of the local funding is being managed by the community charity with a Green Heart, Groundwork, which specialises in transforming communities and the local environment for the better.

Hamble Lifeboat aim to with the £4,000 grant with your votes to carry out urgent repairs to the slipway in front of the Lifeboat station. This slipway is used all year by the local dingy sailors, kayakers and river users. We look to ensure it remains safe and usable for the community. It also serves to recover or launch our lifeboat prior to or on completion of annual service. When in Tesco, make sure you ask for the blue tokens, as they don’t give them out unless you ask for them and when you have made a purchase, then please vote for Hamble Lifeboat.
